The guided tour for MOvember movement at MO

MO Museum contributes to the social project “MOvember” (“Bearded November”) and invited all men interested in this social movement to come and see the MO exhibition “All Art Is About Us”.

The goal of the MOvember project is to encourage men to grow mustache and beard and thereby express solidarity with those who have the prostate cancer. The slogan of this November is “Let’s Change the Face of the Disease!”. Therefore, MO suggested the participants of this movement to change the standards.

Mostly, museums attract more women than men. However, this does not mean that there can be no other way. It is said that art heals. And this effect does not depend on the gender.

Why MOvember?
The Movember campaign was first launched in 1999, when a group of Australian residents decided that they needed to take better care of men’s health. These activists came up with the idea of a campaign that on the 1st of November the men who have shaved their beards and moustaches do not shave them for the whole month. In this way, they wanted to draw the attention to the most dangerous oncological male disease – prostate cancer. From this idea came the title of the campaign MOvember, which is a mixed English word composed of moustache and November.
