Austėja Landsbergienė, the doctor of social sciences, educologist was our guest on a date with an Artwork of. For the start of the conversation she chose the art pieces of artists Algirdas and Remigijus Gataveckai.
Covering one topic after another, A. Landsbergienė told the reason for choosing this artwork and shared her views on what has more impact and determines children’s ability to develop: genes or the environment they have grown up in. A. Landsbergienė also remembered her childhood and her school.
The guests of the event and visitors of the museum had also the opportunity to hear unexpected stories and facts: the lowest grade she received at school and whether she had a nickname in her childhood.
The authors of the chosen artwork, brothers Algirdas and Remigijus Gataveckai, also participated in this event. They admitted that it was always interesting and very important to hear different interpretations of their works.
Having been asked about the main goal of their work, they admitted that it was to change the environment in the children care homes and to show children that everything was in their hands. R. and A. Gataveckai wanted to set their own example and to prove that by working hard everything is possible.
