More than 10 thousand people visited MO Museum during the first days of its opening
October 18–21 more than 10 thousand people have visited the museum‘s exhibition „All Art Is About Us“ and its accompanying events.
More than 70 events, including meetings with authors, discussions, performances, classical concerts and nightlife, were full of visitors of all ages.
Exhibition – the main focus of MO Museum
“The tickets to the exhibition and to the excursions of the exhibition were sold the fastest. It proves us that the modern and contemporary art is interesting to our visitors and they want to learn more about it “, – says M. Ivanauskienė, the director of MO Museum.
She also adds that such a great interest of visitors shows that MO museum has to follow the chosen direction. “The whole team is delighted by such a successful beginning. During these four opening days the museum was full of life. And now our main task is to continue building MO community”.
From Monday – new visitors
The MOrathon of the museum opening ended on Sunday but already on Monday the museum started its regular work and activities. Even before the opening, there were number of requests for group tours, requests to visit the museum just after the opening. Also, the special educational programmes for school children will start shortly.
“With a four days’ opening programme we wanted to show how we see MO. From now on the visitors are welcome to visit not only the exhibition which can be guided with the help of e-guide, but also other events of the museum”, – says the director of MO Museum.
Starting from this week, the lecture series back2School by Ričardas Jankauskas will be held every Wednesday at MO Museum. These lectures are for everyone who wants to know more about art. The museum will also host cinema sessions, organized by the cinema “Pasaka“.
Special events
The MO Museum will also continue Family Sundays – a special programme for children which was already presented during the opening days of the museum. Every Sunday MO together with the theatre „Pradžia“ will be waiting for children aged 3-8 years. A special programme for up to 20 children will last for 45 minutes and will be held every hour starting from 10:00 till 14:00.
The visitors will be also invited to “Date with an Artwork” events, where different professionals will talk about art pieces and why one or another piece of art is relevant to them. The first Date will be with the famous opera singer Ieva Prudnikovaitė. MO has also prepared a solution for those who are in a hurry – a lunch break in the museum.
