Doctors will be able to visit MO free of charge throughout July

On 27 April, MO Museum, which was closed due to the pandemic, announced its support campaign “Ticket to the Future” addressing to the MO community and all those who care about MO activities. During one month of the campaign, 1,033 museum future tickets were bought. MO keeps its promise given during the campaign to donate the same amount of tickets to health-care workers and decides to do even more – health-care workers will be able to visit the museum free of charge throughout July.

“We thank everyone who contributed to the existence of MO Museum throughout this period when the museum was closed. Tickets are one of the main sources of our income and account for up to 50% of MO’s budget. We had promised that, based on the number of “Tickets to the Future” purchased, we would present the same amount of tickets to Lithuanian health-care workers. We understand that 1,000 tickets would ensure a visit for only a small part of the medical community, therefore, we decided not to limit this number and we will be waiting for all Lithuanian doctors at MO throughout July free of charge,” says Milda Ivanauskienė, Director at MO Museum.

“We are also concluding this month-long initiative with a symbolic month dedicated to Lithuanian doctors. We will be waiting for them at MO Museum throughout July, when we already have the exhibition “Why Is It Hard to Love?”, curated by foreign artists Saskia Boddeke and Peter Greenaway,” the museum director also adds.

MO announces that invitations will be sent to hospitals and medical institutions in June informing of the possibility to visit MO Museum free of charge for all health-care workers in July. They will not need to register nor notify about their scheduled arrival. All they have to do is visit MO Museum and have a medical institution employee certificate or other proof of employment at the medical institution. Representatives of the museum want to ensure a safe exploration of art, so it is possible that in case of large visitor flows, some may need to wait.

MO Museum informs that a total of 1,033 museum “Tickets to the Future” were sold, and after summing up other received support funds (sales of MO annual MOdernist memberships and separate support for MO Museum by the amount of one’s choice), the museum collected EUR 10,000 of support.

Those willing to support MO Museum are further invited to do so. The easiest and fastest way is to buy a MO Museum ticket or an annual museum membership and become a MOdernist. In this way, not only can you support the museum but also provide yourself or your friends with new experiences.
