A new small exhibition opens on November 27.

The exhibition will feature the work of one of the most innovative Lithuanian experimentalists of her generation, Kazimiera Zimblytė (1933–1999), alongside the experimental films of Rose Lowder (b. 1941), a French artist born in Peru. The exhibition will introduce abstract art creators who worked on opposite sides of the Iron Curtain, with both artists focusing on themes of nature and locations far removed from urban hustle and bustle. Their works, created in typically male-dominated mediums such as painting and film, offer a universal ecological perspective that transcends geographical boundaries. The exhibition aims to present on equal footing the artistic legacies of these women, who lived and created in different contexts yet have often been overlooked. It also seeks to trace the universal themes of human and nature, time, and matter that emerge from the dialogue between their artistic practices.
