The Origin of Species: 1990s DNA
MOdernists – free entrance.
About the exhibition
The first decade of independence from the USSR shaped us to who we are today. The decade of chaos, freedom, scarcity and the unofficial discovery of state. Memorable artifacts of regular people brought together in an exhibition demonstrating the shift to a more structured and civilized existence. Why are Lithuanians today as they are? This exhibition will uncover the conflicting mood of the society, euphoric nature of new beginnings and the complexity of change. A glimpse at art, culture and ourselves. Bundled with stories of everyday life. Music, fashion, market economy, a newly born mafia and pop culture will find itself reflected in the artworks of MO collection.
Please be informed that one installation in the exhibition contains flashing lights and moving objects.
